emily_sm Emily Chuba – Emily has stayed in touch with UVP since volunteering with us in 2004 – she currently works as a rape crisis counselor and volunteers as a mentor for medically at risk refugee women. She has future plans to pursue her Master’s degree in Public Health.
Jeyandini Fernando – Jeyandini served as a member of a team focusing on obstetric fistula with UVP in 2008, and is now a law student at NYU specializing in International law with concentrations on immigration and adoption.
matti_sm Matti Jansen – Matti is a resident in internal medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She developed a love for Uganda while spending time volunteering at Mulago Hospital in Kampala.
kiki_sm Kiki Kalkstein – Kiki was a member of the UVP obstetric fistula team in the summer of 2008. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Public Health and a minor in Global Poverty and Practice. She is currently living in Washington D.C. and working in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
stephanie_sm Stephanie Lewczyk – Stephanie served as part of a team working with UVP’s scholarship students, and is a talented artist who runs her own shop on Etsy for handmade crafts, and has started a handmade craft shop to benefit Uganda Village Project as well.
meg_sm Meg Melchiors – Meg lives in Seattle, WA, where she is a Pharmacist and spends most of her free time in the beautiful NW outdoors swimming, biking, running, and hiking… and is very much looking forward to the day when she can return to Uganda, and eat a pineapple every day.
abhijeet_sm Abhijeet Namjoshi – Abhijeet worked with Uganda Village Project during summer 2008, and is currently applying to medical school. He has a double degree in Microbiology/Molecular Biology, and loves Arsenal F.C., Uganda, and Global Health!
eugene_sm Eugene Song – Eugene is at the University of California, Berkeley finishing his degree in Integrative Biology and a minor in Global Poverty. He plans to pursue a Masters of Public Health degree and a career in health care development work for third-world countries. He went to Uganda during the summer of 2009 as a part of the “Healthy Villages Initiative” and is planning to return next summer.
sonali_sm Sonali Palchaudhuri – Sonali is a medical student at University of Michigan whose focus with UVP is on safe water and sanitation programs.
sujal_sm Sujal Parikh – Sujal is a 3rd year medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School and hopes to pursue a career that spans education, research, advocacy, and clinical practice.
ozge_sm Ozge Tuncalp – Ozge is currently writing her dissertation proposal for her doctoral degree in public health at Hopkins, on maternal health in Ghana. She has been working with UVP with a focus on obstetric fistula issues since 2004.
ce_sm Ce Zhang – Ce is a sophomore premedicine major in the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University, and spent the summer of 2009 with UVP in Uganda.
