Educate Children

According to UNESCO, only 12% of people over 25 in Uganda have had any secondary education, while 33% of people over 25 have had no formal education.  Most children never make it past primary school (grade six) and will have few career options – with limited choices, they will likely end up as poor rural farmers like their parents and struggle to make enough money to send their children to secondary school, continuing the cycle of rural poverty.

Uganda Village Project is helping to break this cycle of poverty by sending orphans and other vulnerable children and young people to secondary school.  We cover full tuition, fees, and personal items such as uniforms, books, and school supplies as needed.  For those students that show particular promise, we provide support to assist them to attend university or vocational training, where possible.

Give a young person hope for a brighter future this holiday season from as little as $25 per month. Please visit our Scholarship Profiles to choose a secondary or tertiary student to sponsor.
