Webmaster (Volunteer)
Job Description
The UVP website utilizes a content management system (CMS) called WordPress. The Webmaster uses WordPress to create new web pages, maintain content of existing pages and also handles day-to-day management of the UVP website, assuring the quality and integrity of the web pages.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the layout of UVP web pages, including graphics, animation and functionality.
Works under the direction of the IT Officer to improve and maintain the UVP website.
Monitors site performance and utilization, and testing of pages and links.
Implements search engine optimization strategies.
Assists the Executive Board and Staff in maintaining existing pages and implementing new pages. In general the Executive Board will author content for the pages.
Circulates efficient and accurate reporting, detailing results of each web marketing campaign and possible improvement.
Coordinates with, manages the efforts of and serves as the main point of contact for other technical resources working with the website.
Advises Executive Board on new directions in technology for the website to help achieve UVP goals.
Maximizes online affiliate opportunities and revenue generation for UVP, and act as main point of contact.
Skills / Attributes Desired
WordPress skills, or willingness and ability to learn them.
Web design skills which will include the ability to layout web pages and edit HTML.
Familiarity with CSS, Flash and JavaScript helpful.
Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.
Experience managing an organization website
